Your baby's days are yours.
Last updated 23 May 2026. A plain-English summary of how UMA handles your information.
What we collect
Your baby's name and date of birth, your name. Stored on your device. Sent to our server only with each AI request (to personalize meanings, insights, and letters). Not retained on our server beyond the request itself.
Voice journal recordings. Audio is sent to our server, transcribed via OpenAI Whisper, and discarded immediately after transcription (under 30 seconds typically). The text version is stored on your device.
Journal text. Stored on your device. Sent to our server only when you request AI reflection. We do not retain your journal text on our server.
Photos (if you choose to caption them). Sent to our server for a poetic caption, discarded immediately after. Originals stay on your device.
Subscription state. Apple manages your subscription. We receive only a receipt token used to confirm entitlement — never your payment details.
Family circle data. If you use Family circle, your baby's tracker events (feeds, sleeps, diapers, etc.) are synced to our server so family members can see them. Events are stored encrypted and accessible only to members you invite. You can revoke access or delete your account at any time.
Sign In with Apple. We receive your Apple user ID, and optionally your name and email (if you choose to share them). We use these only to create your account and enable family sync.
What we do not collect
We do not collect contact info, advertising IDs, location, health data, or identifiable images of your baby beyond what you choose to share. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising. We do not use your voice notes, journal entries, or photos to train AI models.
Third parties
OpenAI. Voice transcription (Whisper) and AI insights (GPT-4o) run on OpenAI's API under their zero-data-retention enterprise terms.
Apple. Subscription billing, App Store delivery, and push notifications are handled by Apple.
Your rights
You can clear all UMA data at any time from Family → Start over. This deletes your baby's profile, journal entries, and cached insights from your device. Email privacy@fourcents.in with any other request.
Children
UMA is intended for parents and adult caregivers. It is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we'll update this page and let you know in the app before the change takes effect.
